Dear members and friends,
Welcome to a new season! It will officially be spring tomorrow – the equinox will take place Wednesday, March 20 – and although there’s been a chill in the air, there are signs of growth and renewal throughout Ruthven Park’s beautiful picturesque landscape. Though the Mansion is still closed (until Victoria Day long weekend May 18th), we encourage visitors to explore the grounds and check out the bird banders who will begin their spring migration banding April 1st.
This newsletter is a bit different, it is the first of our quarterly reports that will be forthcoming throughout the year. These will provide more details on projects and research than the monthly e-newsletter. You will find details about the ongoing restoration of the widows walk, what Michael our new education coordinator has been up too. As well details on the upcoming season, tour times and dates for Behind the Scenes tours.
You will also find a recap of past events – and details about upcoming events such as the Acrylic Paint Workshop with Heather Gross, Native Plant 101 with Chris Di Raddo, and we welcome Elizabeth Boyd back for a Herb Walk in May.
You can access the PDF of the March newsletter on your device by downloading it when you click here: 1st Quarterly Report 2019
We hope you enjoy reading it as much as you enjoy the changes that come with spring this season!
