Filming at Ruthven Park

Ruthven Park National Historic Site makes an excellent setting for a film location.

Take advantage of our magnificent grounds with its abundance of trees, and use the backdrop of the architectural elements of our heritage buildings.

Situated along the banks of the Canadian Heritage Grand River, Ruthven Park is a unique and beautiful location, that offers a peaceful atmoshphere and lots of free parking.

Ruthven Park is proud to help Ontario’s film industry and is a proud member of Ontario Media Development Corporation.

There are opportunities for commercial filming.

Photography at Ruthven Park

Ruthven Park also offers a stunning backdrop for all kinds of photography.

Professional Photoshoots

Commercial photographers may use the exterior of the site’s historic buildings and the expansive grounds and gardens for photoshoots with Clients at a rate of $100.00 + HST for two hours (2018 rate). The interior of the mansion is not available for photoshoots at this time for conservation reasons.

Clients are asked to please call 905-772-0560 or email info@ruthvenpark.ca to book photography sessions at Ruthven Park during designated opening hours.

Mansion Photography

Mansion tour participants are encouraged to take photos of the interior of the mansion, as long as flash is not used. If you are the member of a group of 6 or more photographers that would like to visit together in order to photograph the mansion interior, call in advance at 905-772-0560 or email info@ruthvenpark.ca to inquire about availability.

 

Fall Hours

The Welcome Centre and Grounds: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm – By change Saturday and Sunday          (Oct 14 – Nov 3)

The Mansion: Tours by appointment only, groups of 15 people or more. Call for more information 905-772-0560

Christmas Tours: Public tours begin December 4 – 20th, Wednesday – Friday only; guided tours at 12:30 pm,                2 pm and 3:30 pm.  

Bird Banding: Banding lab is open September 1 –  November 7 for the fall migration.  Sunrise until 12 noon, weather dependent.
